Kate has an heirloom Christmas Cactus that she inherited from her Mother. She insisted that I photograph it tonight.

Black Velvet Petunia

Black Velvet Petunia 1

Ball has developed the first black petunia, called Black Velvet. Apparently this is a reasonably big deal in the horticulture world. Ball had a booth in Geneva and I had a chance to see it and take a couple of shots. It's pretty dang black.

Second Sunday of Advent

Second Sunday of Advent

I had the opportunity to visit the Cantigny greenhouses on November 26, 2008 to photograph their Poinsettias. They have about 2000 that will be used for decorations and for community plant sales.
